Artist of The Week: The Civil Wars

I used to listen to Joy Williams but only recently i heard of her collaboration with songwriter John Paul White and they form The Civil Wars. John  (who look like a cross of that white stripe dude and Johnny Depp) writes good songs. I am a fan of country blues, they really move you. No, Taylor Swift is a just a complainer, I'm talking about pure country soul. Their first debut, Barton Hallow quickly grow on me these past few days.

My favorite, man where should I start - almost all of the slow blues such as Poison & Wine (superb), I've got this friend, C'est la mort, Girl with red balloon and Falling. Joy sweet vocal and John's deep tone compliment each other well. You might not know them that well, but their debut made it to 2 on Billboard 200. And after a few spin, It should be number 1. Amazing.
