Artist of The Week: Rachael Yamagata

Who doesnt know RY by now. They should cause she is pure genius and has The voice. I remembered being an instant fan after Be Be Your Love and was at that time in love. She would be aside from Angus/Julia, Kate Walsh that is my constant folk spin. Loved her in Elephants and now she is back with Chesapeake.

She is know for her slow acoustics but her rock heavy jams such as Starlight, is a solid finger snapping music. My favorite has to be (addictively) Deal Breaker. This song does her justice. You'll find yourself falling in love (again) after this track and similar such as You Wont Let Me, Stick Around (beautiful!) which just at least bring you to tears because of the perfection of her voice. That deep voice of hers, should win her dozen of Grammys. Tracks like Even If I Dont, Saturday Morning would be a total turnover, proving that she's not all gloomy - it's sweet.This album is not as good as Elephants but hey, I love her regardless.
