Artist of The Week: Wouter Hamel

My utmost favorite pop jazz singer is back with a new album, Longherin. The first single, Demise has been stuck in my head for weeks now. That is pure breezy-indie track.

Tracklisting:
1. Touch the stars
2. Demise
3. What's Left
4. GiuGiu
5. Finally Getting Closer
6. Skimming The Skies
7. Kings & Queens
8. Rue Damremont
9. Longherin
10. Zhavaronki
11. Little Boy Lost
12. Toronto

Aside from Demise, you'll enjoy the soothing ballad of What's Left (really capture the fullness of his voice), Finally getting closer and little boy lost. In Longherin, he tried something new, he does pop-rock-ish for GiuGiu. Proves that great singers are well diverse. Wonder who is the girl featured in GiuGiu, she has a sweet voice. Skimming skies is another favorite as it reminise so much of the days of old-uk pop. Rue Damremont has that tune inspires of the opera but with Hamel's soulful voice, it's refreshing.
