Kpoppies Update: Chocolat, Stellar, April Kiss & Nine Muses
There are always new idols popping in here and there and now it's the season for female idols group. So what's the difference between these three? They are forgettable. But one thing in common, they all have at least one mix-Caucasian Korean member. Maybe that is the trend now. Nope, not the music that is important nor the talent but what blood you have.
First we have Chocolat with their debut, Syndrome. This reminds me so much of KARA. They're going for the first bi-racial idol group as all of their members are not 100% Korean. That's not really a strong reason to start a group in the first place. I find their voice a little bit screechy that it comes off as annoying. They're pretty all right but they need more singing classes or maybe should try out acting instead.
Then there is Stellar with their debut (with an appearance from Shinwha's Eric), Rocket Girl. This song seriously makes no sense. It's heavily dubbed with electronic and you can only hear one girl singing through the end. It's not even singing but more of, talking? lol. It's catchy but maybe a little bit too much.
April Kiss which they proudly say (I don't understand why) that they are the counterpart of 2pm as a girl group. Seriously, they are not. The song is average and their vocal skills is really not up to 2pm-ish standards. If you're going to set the benchmark that high at least have the talent to back it up. I think their claim just minimizes their fan base.
Nine Muses is not a new group, Figaro is actually their 3rd single but they've still have not make an impact. Maybe because their songs are forgettable and are just too perfectly looking to be singers. They do though dance very well together. Figaro like their previous singles, leaves no impact whatsoever.
All in all, not all Kpop groups are good and i think lately, the new ones are getting worse. But let's pray their comeback would be better.
