Artist of The Week: Alison Krauss & The Union Station

Alison Krauss has always been a favorite, her melancholy songs with that soothing voice of hers the reason I love listening to folk. She release her first album with the The Union Station (a callabo), Paper Airplanes. This single is a 5/5 on its own. It should be number one on the billboard chart and not the same shit Katy Perry,Gaga or Rihanna is releasing right now. Good songs are not valued any more.

That's why you'll find me here all alone and still wondering why
Waiting inside for the cold to get colder
And here where it's clear that I've wasted my time
Hoping to fly 'cause it's almost over now

People come together, people go their own way
Love conquers few
And I'll do whatever, I'll say what I need to say
Just not for you

-Paper Airplanes

Isnt that beautiful? the whole album is fill with songs like this with few tracks only sang by Union Station boys. They are more bluegrass country songs compare to the slow songs from Alison. My other favorites would be Lie Awake, Lay My Burden  Down (beautiful!) and Dimming of The Day. But seriously, you should listen to all especially in the morning - it calms you down. And the songs are well written. There's no ah, uh uh or oh written anywhere. It is really poetic like the ones in Paper Airplanes.

ARRatings - 5/5
